Port Douglas State School seeks parents support in ensuring that all students are wearing full school uniform, including appropriate footwear, at all times. The wearing of full school uniform conveys a sense of self pride in students and in their school. It also fosters a sense of belonging and promotes the safety of our students.
Sports Shirts
These shirts are worn on Fridays, or days of sporting events.

School Jumper
School Jumper is available for winter. If you don't wish to purchase from the Uniform Shop we recommend navy blue jackets or jumper be worn.
Special Events • Cohort Shirts
Our senior students purchase a senior shirt as a special part of our uniform that indicates their senior status.

- Dark blue shorts/skort or netball skirt mid-thigh length (short bike pants are not appropriate uniform)
 Closed in shoes and socks. During Term 1, students are able to wear plain 'Crocs' (no accessories) or sandals during wet weather. When requested, shoes must be worn for example during PE lessons, sporting events and other curriculum such as science experiments. When representing our school at official or extra-curricular events, shoes must be worn at all times. - School sun safe hat

- Singlet tops, bare midriff, tank tops are inappropriate during free-dress days
- Students defacing school uniforms by signature etc. will be asked to change
- Hair to be neat and tidy – “extremely different" hairstyles are discouraged.
- Students with hair below shoulder length (irrespective of gender) are required to wear their hair up.
- Hats are to be worn outside in non-covered areas at all times or children may be required to miss out on outside activities. School hats are expected to be worn as part of our SunSmart policy “NO HAT-NO PLAY". Students are expected to play in covered areas or indoors only if no hat is worn.
- Jewellery - Earrings – maximum of two sleepers or studs only, a watch (wearable devices, such as smartwatches, must have notifications switched off so that phone calls, messages and other notifications cannot be sent or received during school hours), rings - single signet ring, single necklace - religious medallion or blood group tag only and tucked into shirts. No other jewellery is permitted to be worn.

Uniforms can be purchased each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:30am until 9:00am at the Tuckshop Uniform Shop or anytime online at Flexischools. Students who arrive at school in inappropriate clothing should be directed to the Administration Office at the beginning of the day. Administration staff will provide the students with a spare uniform, and contact parents.
